Kapusňáková, Zuzana ; Muhič Dizdarevič, Selma (advisor) ; Dohnalová, Marie (referee)
This thesis examines the political participation of homeless individuals in the Czech Republic and the significance of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in supporting this participation. The theoretical part introduces the concepts of civic and political participation and homelessness. In the empirical part, interviews with homeless individuals and NGO representatives are used. The results show that practical barriers such as lack of information and resources for participation in political processes are the main obstacles to political participation for homeless individuals. It was also found that NGOs play a significant role in supporting political participation of homeless individuals and can help remove some of the barriers that prevent these individuals from political engagement. The significance of this work lies in its focus on a marginalized group of citizens and contribution to the discussion on inclusive political participation in the Czech Republic. The thesis also shows the importance of NGOs in supporting political participation of homeless individuals and can serve as inspiration for further research in this area.

The Austrian electoral law reform 2007: An Experiment and inspiration?
Uhlich, Tereza ; Kunštát, Miroslav (advisor) ; Dimitrov, Michal (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the Austrian electoral reform of 2007, which included the lowering of the voting age from 18 to 16 years. Lowering the voting age has resonated in Austrian society since the 1990s. As a rule, it was promoted by the left-wing parties, while the right-wing parties opposed it. Gradually, in a total of five federal states, it was possible to lower the age limit at the municipal or state level. At the federal level, the situation was different. The implementation was possible due to a political calculation between the governing parties, when the SPÖ's proposal to lower the voting age was exchanged for that of the ÖVP, which advocated the introduction of postal voting options for all Austrians. The proposal was finally approved by all political parties in the parliament. Although the lowering of the voting age was approved without much attention, it caused the creation of many projects, thanks to which it was possible to maintain the interest of young people in politics.

Vojteková, Zuzana ; Moree, Dana (advisor) ; Muhič Dizdarevič, Selma (referee)
The diploma thesis focuses on ethical consumerism and its impact on the civic engagement of young women. Ethical consumerism, which includes, for example, boycott and buycott of products and services, is gaining momentum in the downfall of formal civic engagement. Citizens move to the market where they apply their ethical principles of noneconomic character. Their consumer choices are motivated by publicly beneficial motives. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis defines both civic society and its civic participation, and ethical consumerism. The theory of ethical consumerism addresses the definitions of basic concepts, the change in the political climate, which has allowed the expansion of ethical consumerism and the gender aspect of this phenomenon. The research focuses specifically on young women who live in Prague and regularly shop ethically, and their participation in civic engagement before and after becoming ethical consumers. From the data gathered, it was found out upon which products the informants exercised their ethical consumption, the representation of socio-economical, environmental and political motives and how they formally and informally engage in civil society. Choosing products is just like casting a vote. The consumer choice gives citizens a sense of who they are, it is...
